Word of God

I believe the Bible is completely and wholly the Word of God.
It is broken into books and verses, but they work in unison to speak the message of God's love.  It's a story with a beginning, but only glimpses of "the ending" and thereafter.

Accepting the Truth of God's word is the first step in understanding it.
- Yes, it was physically written by fallible humans - but I know God is bigger.
- Yes, interpretation is tricky and is known to bring controversy, but the Holy Spirit is promised to us.

The Holy Spirit gives us clarity as we are open to it.  That is the importance of the "Blank Canvas".  We need to come to scripture very open and teachable.

The following scriptures speak of the power, validity, and necessity of God's Word.

Scriptures about God’s Word

2 Timothy 2:16-17
All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, equipped for every good work.

John 1:1
In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.

Psalm 119:130
The unfolding of your words gives light;  it imparts understanding to the simple.

Hebrews 4:12
For the word of God is alive and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.

Isaiah 40:8
The grass withers and the flowers fade, but the word of our God endures forever.

Matthew 24:35
Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Matthew 4:4
Jesus answered, "It is written: 'Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God.'"

Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp for my feet, a light on my path.

James 1:22
Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.

Matthew 7:24
Therefore everyone who hears these words of mine and puts them into practice is like a wise man who built his house on the rock.

John 1:14
The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

Psalm 33:4
For the word of the LORD is right and true; he is faithful in all he does.

John 8:31-32
So Jesus was saying to those Jews who had believed Him, “If you continue in My word, then you are truly disciples of Mine; and you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free.”
